Kobe Convention Center opened in 1981 to serve as a core conventions complex for Kobe’s Port Island, an island built as the World’s first cultural city on the sea. Fully equipped international conference halls, exhibition halls, multi-functional spaces and a major hotel are all linked by a single walkway. These venues are all located next to the newly opened Kobe Airport. Additionally, there are restaurants, parks and museums offering convention delegates both stimulating and relaxing recreational and dining experiences.

The International Conference Center Kobe is a facility incorporating a total of 21 conference rooms including the Main Hall seating 692 participants and the International Conference Room seating up to 360, both of which are equipped with simultaneous interpretation systems for up to six languages. This venue also features an optical fiber-based LAN. The center serves as the venue for many large-scale domestic academic conferences and more than 30 international conferences each year. Organizers can benefit from the wide-ranging support of the experienced staff, and the usage fees are inexpensive on a national basis.
